you know how people have things that they do? some people shop a lot, some people drink a lot, other people jump in and out of relationships a lot.... well, i've discovered what i do. i leave! no, seriously, that's what i do. i get back and then i leave again. i left for the army last summer. i got back, then i left for ecuador. then i got back, now i'm leaving again!

yup, yours truly has once again halted her college education for the army, this time headed down to new orleans. my unit got activated yesterday, and we head out of here monday or tuesday. i'll be gone anywhere from 14-30 days, not entirely sure yet. i spent a large majority of yesterday sort of freaking out a bit... crying, tambien. but i've had a day and a half to think about it, talk about it, adjust to the thought, and i'm actually feeling ok about it. i signed up to do this, go out and help where the help is most needed. i get to go help people right here in my country who need help desperately.

so, i'll let everyone know when i'm back, and hopefully i won't get eaten by any aligators. but, since i'm missing my big 21 on wednesday, i think there will be a big ol' shindig upon my return. then we'll go get trashed!!!!

always.....

it's what i do...

I have things that I do too, I do them and then I totally do other things. Do do do doo-be-doo-be-do. Scooby Doo too! I do things that I do.

I wish I could go down and help; it looks like the end world for those people, some already living in 3rd world conditions. So go and spread some Oregonian compassion and get down on the moonshine.

good luck to you dk. this must be scary but it is an oppertunity for you to actually help some people who need it, not just think that someone should. you are lucky.
And happy birthday.
