Ahhh, a sea of smelly black-clad, glasses wearing, metal dudes and chicks, it was great to see a huge turn out of diehard-post-hardcore-core-hard-metal-post-rock-epic-rock-metal-post fans in Eugene, I mean Portland, errrr Bologna.
Tim Hecker started off the night with live ambient, mixed transmissions of Italian radio gargled over drum effects and feedback textures, all while dressed a a K Mart purchased Dungeon Master . . . .

What can you say about ISIS live? A great experince, awe inspiring, powerful and dead on. Fully physical, out of body, visceral, dare I say 'emotional' experience. I hate to get all new-agey, but the encore "celestial" was like being lost in space, "earth now below our feet . . . . . . . "
The best thing about seeing an American band in another country is hearing their name being mispronounced and screamed over and over . . . . . "eeeessssssiiiiiiissssee, eeeeeessssiiiiissse"
