it has been probably 6 months since i posted on this site, and knowing erics schedule and how often he posts it makes me feel likethe laziest mother fucker on the planet. hats off to you eric. anyways...this is my new address in portland. FINALLY...i have made it out of 25 years living with:
-burners (burning man hippies)
-shakespearian tourist
-shitty shows at the armory
-living no farther than 10 miles away from my parents
-and knowing every damn person walking down the street.
Now not all was doom and gloom for me in ashland there are a lot of things i will miss. stuff like:
- jon, mike, and lazerbeams (RIP) with affiliated crew
- 4 lakes within 30 min. (ok like an hour) of driving and shooting spots within 5
- not having to deal with traffic on the 5 at 5
-knowing every damn person walking down the street
so far i have been up here for about 2 months and loving it! i started goin to classes at PCC a few weeks ago. the scenery around campus is a bit different from that at RCC. instead of recovering meth addicts, single moms, and medford in general. i have woodsy sw portland, hords of cute girls (all of which want nothing to do with me...so far), and the general student population being under 30.
my first few weeks up here were occupied with making myself a local...meaning i rode my bike a lot. coming from ashland where i would have to seriously weigh my options to ride the whole 3-4 miles accross town, i come here and don't hesitate to ride 8 miles up to NW and hang. it makes no sense. along with biking i have been skating as much as my wallet will allow. so far ive gone through a few boards and a pair of shoes, now with my account at about zero i am forced to take a break. bammer. hopefully that will turn around soon. i recently got a job through my friend eli at place that serves the BEST pizza in NW portland. the silver dollar. if you don't believe me look it up on google maps (seriously the reviews are good for a laugh) i would say that the pies there are a couple steps up from frozen pizza. but not whole steps...like those steps that are 2 feet long, really small and pain to walk up. as for my living situation, its pretty tops. apart from living so far from downtown the place is rad. located right outside some rich ass houses in east moreland and reed college. i wish i was a kid for halloween, these are the kind of houses that would give give out king size snickers and jawbreakers the size of baseballs. my landlords are my roomates. arron and katie bought the house in sept. and i was fortunate enough to squeeze in and claim a room to call my own. along with them one of their friends devon from college lives with us. recently back from teaching english in china he has quite a few stories and can fluently speak and read chinies (as far as i have been able to tell, but who knows he could be faking it this whole time). now back to me being flat broke, i have found what the internet was invented for...downloading music. thanks to people like eric who make the internat a better place i have been able to greatly enhance my music selection without spending dime i dont have. RAD. ramen and rice are now my best friend. who knew you can do so much with so little. and water has replaced my daily regiment of pabst...probably for the best.
well im about spent for tonight and im sure you are tired of reading my terrible spelling. see you again in another 6. chow
