Every thing that has ever had a flicker of the beautiful, original, wonderous, truly stimulating, and the joyful (or pure good), has been squashed at every corner by basic human immaturity. We are a race of the lazy and the scared. We are afraid of truly feeling. Im just as guilty as everyone else of this of course. But if you look at the whole scheme of things - relationships, life, mankind, the planet, the universe - you've got to ask yourself a question. Is there anything left worth fighting for? I say no. I think anything that is pure has been destroyed by exploitation and nay-sayers. Our "history" is at a point of no return. What an ugly species we make. All thats left for me to do is to become desensitized to all of the fucked up people around me, and drink myself to death.

Of Human Beings.

In spite of the fact that it was a Tuesday night and well past our bedtime, the roomie and I decided to venture out into Portland on Halloween for the boys' show. It was nice to see a lot of friends who I've neglected to spend time with since I started the new job. I was trying desperately to be a supportive girlfriend, but that was a little hard since I was pretending not to know The Boy. I didn't necessarily enjoy his costume. He decided it was a good idea to be Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, complete with balding head (he shaved it just for the occasion), god-awful sweats, tacky gold chain, and greasy mustache (luckily that was fake). I must admit, they sounded really well, and they manage to bring a decent size crowd in. Amanda and I went as suburban housewives. We might have looked just a touch out of place, but you know, it was Halloween. No one is really supposed to look like they belong that night.
Blow-up Betty is just wrong...

Seriously, she creeps me out. Especially when she's peeking up my skirt...

The only two people in the whole bar who ordered Cosmos

Phil was a homewrecker. I told him my husband was away on business. He got the hint.

The rain has started, and it looks like it's gonna be here for awhile. I'm enjoying this way too much. It's Friday night, and what are my plans? Put on my pjs, watch a movie, hopefully be asleep before 11pm. And that's my plan for the whole weekend. When did I get so boring?
